Most Popular Video Games Are Dumb. Can We Stop Apologizing for Them Now?
To accept childish dreck without protest-or worse, to defend the dreck’s obvious dreckiness just because the other parts of a game are cool-is to allow the form to languish forever.
I enjoy games, but sometimes I just can’t stand the cinematic sequences. Juvenile would be the phrasing, juvenile but in my opinion totally inappropriate for the juvenile audience. ( I reference call of duty and other games all the time in my class because my grade 3/4s are playing them - and so do I.)
